Introducing Plastic Gears

Naismith Engineering is now stocking a range of Plastic Spur & Bevel Gears in Australia. Stagnoli have been manufacturing gears and other components from injection moulded plastics in Italy since 1981.

These gears are available in a range of materials.

The S-Torque Range
These gears are ideal for high torque-low speed (under 1000rpm) applications.
PA6 + 30% glass fibre* These gears are grey in colour.
FOOD GRADE PA6 + 30% glass fibre, colour blue. Suitable for contact with food.

The S-Speed Range
These gears are ideal for high speed (over 1000RPM) - low torque applications.
POM-C acetal resin* These gears are white in colour.

The S-Shock Range
These gears can withstand high impact loads (up to 2.5 times stronger than POM) As well as a higher temperature range than POM. They also have a high resistance to most chemicals and oils.
Polyketone These gears are of a natural colour.

Spur Gears Bevel Gears

Spur gears are available in a large range of modules from 0.5 up to 4.0 and have a tooth count of 12 up to 150 depending on the module.

Bevel Gears are available in modules from 1.0 up to 3.5 and ratios of 1:1 up to 1:4

Gear racks are available on request in various lengths up to 1 metre long and couple perfectly with the spur gear range.

One huge advantage that plastic gears have over steel gears is the ability to run dry (no lubricant) however the application of a synthetic grease will prolong the life of the gears even further. They are also much lighter than steel gears so are ideal for light weight applications.

Our workshop is able to machine all gears to your final requirements. Simply ask us for a quote.

*These materials are kept in stock in Australia in both Spur gears and Bevel gears. Other materials are available on request.
